Nancy's career in libraries has included a number of opportunities to work with geospatial resources, both with metadata and with the content itself. Over time, that experience has evolved into a special interest that is now being pursued in the form of a Certificate of Achievement for Geographic Information Systems Analyst, a 36-unit program at Foothill College in the Bay Area. The program covers training in the use of GIS tools plus experience with the technical aspects of remote sensing, cartography, and web publication.

Knowledge Motifs is working in concert with Content Innovations LLC to complete the work on geospatial formats initiated by the National Geospatial Digital Archive (NGDA) Project for the Library of Congress (LC). The current project is providing LC with research assistance in evaluating and further developing the factors and explanatory text needed to document geospatial formats in the LC format-sustainability registry.
